![]() You should definitely hear this thing through an amp. I will give the buyer as much of the info I discovered about it as I can (lots of forum links and screenshots) so you will have a an easier time figuring this old baby out. Breaks my heart cause this guitar has a really cool story attached to it. I don’t have the time to learn and I’m moving. ![]() Only needs the changing system tweaked (if you even want to). Every part of this guitar has been disassembled, cleaned, polished, etc, and put back together. Brand new wiring with components from Emerson Custom. I have done a lot of work on this guitar. ![]() Seems like most people use these without the pedals as a console type of guitar. I do have all the original pieces and a couple extra parts. These guitars have a unique changer system on them, and I don’t have the patience to learn how it operates. After EXTENSIVE research on this thing, it’s entirely possible that the pickup is actually the original pickup, and they just didn’t put the horseshoe in this guitar at the factory because of it being a pre production model. The first being that the fabric rail on the front is blonde here instead of dark brown or black, so cool! Also you will notice no thumb slider like the production model. The guitar seems to differ from the actual production 780 models in only a couple ways. This is most likely a late 50’s Rickenbacker 780 PROTOTYPE.
